Cozy Fall Home Tour with Simple Fall Decorating Ideas

We are officially in the fall season here in South Alabama. The mornings are starting to feel a bit cooler, and we are only weeks away from being able to keep the windows open at night. Today, I wanted to share my cozy fall home tour with you. I haven’t shared a post like this in our new home yet, but I have had more to decorate as we work on different spaces.

While I would LOVE to have you over to my home, that’s impossible at the moment. I figured a virtual home tour of our entryway, dining room, living room, and breakfast nook would work, too! I have kept most spaces reasonably minimal, but I think they still feel warm and inviting, which is my goal with my home.

My Fall Home Tour with Cozy Warm Tones

I love to incorporate pieces that seamlessly integrate into my existing decor. At the moment, we have 3 boys aged 7, 5, and 3. I need decor that doesn’t get in the way of our everyday lives. I like to incorporate warmer-toned pillows, cozy candles, a few pumpkins, and faux stems.

I hope this post inspires you to create a cozy warm home this season, even if you don’t want a pumpkin explosion!

Cozy Fall Home Tour: Entryway

Our entryway is this long hallway and it can be hard to decorate sometimes. We added the faux beams on our ceiling last year and I am still so happy with the warmth they bring into the space. Over this past summer, we added this vertical shiplap wall treatment and painted it Shiitake by Sherwin Williams. It is the perfect color! The main walls in our home are painted Pure White by Sherwin Williams.

There's a console table on the left wall surrounded by decorative bats going up the wall. floating candles are hanging from the ceiling

I added a gallery wall above the shiplap; you can read some of my tips and tricks for gallery walls here.

I added this faux oak stem to the large vase I keep year-round on this table.

Adding a Spooky Touch

This year, I hosted a Halloween Paint and Sip party for some ladies in my neighborhood, so I wanted to add fun Halloween touches to my decor.

I added the Harry Potter-inspired floating candles from the ceiling and loved the ambiance they created in the evening. My boys love to use the magic wand to turn them on and off, too!

I added these bats to the wall around my entryway table to look like a swarm flying into the house. You can find them here. I used these sticky dots to attach them to the wall. I’ve used the sticky dots on the exterior of my home, and they never fell off—they’re great quality!

I added a painted jack-o-lantern and another metal one to the other side, which I keep a diffuser in. It looks so fun and spooky when the diffuser runs, and the mist emerges from the jack-o-lantern’s face.

Here is a small tutorial on the painted jack-o-lantern.

Styling my Grandmother’s Piano

I don’t change the decor on my piano often, but I do switch some things around for the seasons. This year, I added a simple pumpkin to the top of the piano.

I also added this glass vase, which I found on Facebook Marketplace, and filled it with dried limelight hydrangeas from my backyard.

Cozy Fall Home Tour: Dining Room

I keep our dining table clear for the most part because it usually becomes my homework table or where I work on things. I don’t want to feel like I have to reset this area and decor all the time. Maybe that will change in the future, but for now, I keep it very minimal.

I switched out my faux stems here for these autumn-toned leaf stems.

My husband and I built our dining table out of maple. We have built 4 tables so far in our marriage, but this is the one we plan to keep forever. Using quality wood makes all the difference!

One of our first projects in this home was the picture frame molding in our dining room. The blog post detailing everything is here!

Cozy Fall Home Tour: Kitchen

We recently added these pendant lights to the kitchen, and I still cannot believe how affordable they are! Compared to lights I had been looking at for years, these are a tenth of the price!

I added this scalloped woven tray from Homegoods to my island and filled my vase with plum florals to bring in some warmth. I always have an Antique Candle Co. candle in my home; my current favorite is Spice Cake. This was a collaboration with Karlee Gail Bowman. If you don’t follow her, I suggest you check her out!

Last year, we added this range hood cover, and I am so glad we did! It gives our kitchen some warmth and interest, which I love. It definitely helped me love my kitchen a bit more.

The Breakfast Nook

Off the side of our kitchen, we have a breakfast nook area where we have done lots of work. We have been slowly working on a dry bar build, and I am so excited to say that the glass doors are coming SOON! I love that we added these large wood shelves in between the towers of this space because I have even more room to decorate!

We also added a banquette to this space. We still have a few more things to do to it, but it has worked just fine as is for now. You can read the blog post on how we built the banquette here. I am trying to decide what fabric to use to make an upholstered bench seat for the banquette.

On the breakfast table, I added a marble lazy Susan with beautiful scalloped edges. On top, I kept a candle and this small pot with some faux stems.

Cozy Fall Home Tour: Living Room

Finally! We are in my favorite spot in the house. Our living room has come so far since the day we moved in. A month after we got settled, we built this Roman clay fireplace. You can read that blog post here.

We added a Frame TV and made the frame around it. It elevated the TV so much.

I added a few new pillow covers to our throw pillows. This added a warm touch that helped bring all of the colors together. On the coffee table, I kept a woven tray with a vase of purple florals and a fabric pumpkin I got a few years ago. Here’s a blog post on how to create fabric pumpkins.

This is my cozy reading corner. I sit here all the time to read or work on my crochet or needlepoint projects!

I found this antique dresser on Facebook Marketplace on the other side of our french doors. I added the viral Aldi wicker vase and these salmon-colored hydrangea stems to the top.
