Simple and Classic Christmas Living Room

Simple and Classic Christmas Living Room

Hi friend! I am excited to share with you today my simple and classic Christmas living room! We just finished building the built ins in our living room and I’ve got to say that is the star of the decor show for me this year. I had so much fun decorating this space and I hope you are inspired by this post!

Something about this past year made me want to incorporate just a little bit more color than I have in years past! The warmth of the red brings me so much joy for some reason. I just love it. I even had my nail tech match the color of the ornaments on my latest pedicure! I am committed to this color!

I first got these stockings about 3 years ago from Target and I am so glad they continue to carry them as our family grows. I love that they are a white knit stocking with the red initials. They literally go with anything and if I didn’t want the red showing I could just flip them the other direction.

I ended up making this garland out of about 12 floral picks from Hobby Lobby. I just used some electrical tape to connect them nice and tight. The garland I really wanted was sold out but I made this work. You better believe it I am going to be picking up the one I want nice and early next year!!

I kept my ornaments super simple with just some red, white and gold ornaments I have collected throughout the years. I tied ribbon on some of the tree branches and I love the feminine touch it added!

I had so much fun styling my built in. Finding balance between all of the elements was a fun challenge. Especially since I did not want to buy anything more than what I already owned.

The mason jar “snow globes” are probably my favorite area of this built in. They were so much fun to make and I think they bring such a nostalgic Christmas vibe. I really adore them. All I did was hot glue a small bristle brush tree onto the lid of a mason jar, I even used some old pasta and pickle jars, and add in some faux snow if you want. SO easy!

The little bulb lights are on a timer so I love seeing it turn on in the afternoon.

My biggest tip for decorating your space is definitely to create something you love. It doesn’t have to be Pinterest latest and greatest, but if you love it that’s all that matters!

I hope you enjoyed a little tour of my simple and classic Christmas living room! Thanks so much for being here. Your support means the world to me!
