La Marca Prosecco Hugo Spritz: The Best Summer Aperitif

If you haven’t been introduced to the Hugo Spritz, allow me the honor. This light and refreshing aperitif is perfect for any occasion—from casual backyard dinners to weekend brunch with friends. Made with fresh mint, lemon slices, floral St. Germain, and my go-to bubbly, La Marca Prosecco, this cocktail is effortlessly elegant and just right for summer sipping.

My Favorite Prosecco for a Hugo Spritz

You just can’t beat the taste and bubbles for the price! La Marca is one of those go-to bottles that feels a little fancy but is still totally affordable—usually under $20. It’s light, crisp, and refreshing, with just the right amount of sparkle. I also love that it’s easy to find—whether you’re making a quick grocery run or popping into Target, La Marca is almost always on the shelf.

Another thing I love? The mini bottles! They’re perfect for when you just want a single glass ,or even better, for serving Hugo Spritzes on the boat. I’ve brought them along for beach days more than once, and it always feels like such a treat.

Beyond the flavor, it’s a bit nostalgic for me. I grew up watching my mom purchase La Marca for family gatherings and holidays, and that signature blue label always brings back those warm, celebratory moments. It’s a classic for a reason.

Hugo Spritz

Ingredients

  • 2 oz St. Germain
  • 3 oz Prosecco, La Marca is my favorite
  • 1 oz Sparkling Water
  • 2 lemon wheels
  • 4 sprigs fresh mint

Method

  1. In a large wine glass, fill ⅔ of the way with ice. Gently slap mint leaves between your hands to release their oils, then add them to the glass. Pour in St. Germain and Prosecco into the glass, and top with sparkling water. Stir the drink, and add in fresh lemon wheels.
