The worst part about getting sick? Everything feel The worst part about getting sick? Everything feeling blah and stale! I came down with some weird Christmas funk and woke up this morning feeling much better 🙌🏻 buttttt…. The whole house feels stale. So I’m starting in the kitchen with this simmer pot recipe! Measure with your heart, I’m just sharing what I’m adding to mine today.
Reset Simmer Pot Recipe:
2 lemons, sliced
3 slices of fresh ginger
2 sprigs of rosemary
1 tsp vanilla paste
1/2 tbsp whole peppercorns

Add all ingredients to a pot with water. Bring to a boil, and reduce to a simmer. Add water as needed and you can use this for up to 3 days before I would switch out for fresh ingredients!

An easy, nontoxic way to freshen up your home with ingredients you probably already have on hand!

Day Four! Let’s batch some homemade Irish Cream. This recipe has become a tradition in our home and we like to sip on it over ice or even get a little crazy and put a splash in our coffees.

Recipe:
1 cup Heavy cream
1 can sweetened condensed milk
3 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1 teaspoon instant coffee
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (I use vanilla paste)
10 oz Whiskey of choice

Add ingredients to a large blender and blend until combined. Store in an airtight container. I would say it lasts for about a week!

Day Three! Let’s make a yummy Pear Noel! I created this by trying to find a way to make my favorite @greygoose La Poire (Pear) Vodka more seasonal for winter. It’s a warm and bright cocktail that’s perfect for enjoying by the tree.

Recipe:
2 oz La Poire Vodka
2 oz Apple Cider
1 oz Amaretto
1 oz Lemon Juice

Rim your cocktail glass with simple syrup and pumpkin pie spice. Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour into your glass and garnish with a star anise or fresh pear slice.

Welcome to the Twelve Days of Drinkmas! 🍸 Day One Welcome to the Twelve Days of Drinkmas! 🍸

Day One, let’s make this delicious cocktail that will warm you right up. The seasonal flavor from the cranberries and richness of the bourbon makes for a festive drink to welcome the holidays! Of course, I’m using my @elevatedcraft cocktail shaker. It’s my go to bar accessory.

Recipe:
2 oz Bourbon of choice (I’m using Buffalo Trace)
2 oz Cranberry Juice (not cocktail!)
1 oz Cranberry Simple Syrup
1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice

Add to a cocktail shaker with ice, shake well and strain into a cocktail glass of choice. Garnish with sugared cranberries from the simple syrup.

Cranberry Simple Syrup:
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
Handful of cranberries

Heat sugar and water and mix until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and add cranberries, let them rest in the syrup for about 15-20 minutes. Transfer to a mason jar and save cranberries for garnishes. They’ll taste amazing!
